Kolkata Environmental Improvement Project - As a part of the Kolkata Environmental Improvement Project, Southern Initiatives, with a mandate and support from The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) has performed street theatres in the slum areas of the city of Kolkata to create awareness among the disadvantaged population about environment, health and hygiene and avenues for self employment. This exercise is also geared to create a sense of belongingness towards public infrastructure among the slum populations. Also as a part of KEIP activities, our field-workers/surveyors have been involved in the resettlement and rehabilitation work, sewerage and drainage related surveys and other survey work among slum dwellers along with TERI and its consultants.
